🌼 “If the rest of the world was silver, Daisy was gold.” 🌼

SYNOPSIS: The story tells of the rise of a young singer/songwriter, Daisy Jones, and a band of musicians, The Six, during the height of rock ‘n roll. It spans a decade and shows the good, the bad, and the ugly of the lifestyle in and around the Los Angeles music scene.

MY THOUGHTS: This was an absolute 5-star read from start to finish for me. I loved the way that the story unfolds like a script in a play. Each character has a distinct voice and tells their perspective based on what they could (or desired to) remember. By the end of the book, I felt for the characters–the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It felt like I was in the crowd or on the stage with the band during every performance. It was like I was right in the middle of 70’s rock, a time I would never have experienced otherwise. There was language, sex, and abuse of drugs and alcohol, but it was not graphic. Because it was being told by the fictional people who were involved in these activities, they probably would not or could not get into all the details. It also seemed to fit for this time period and the lives they were living. I would recommend this book to any and all. Now time to go watch the Amazon Prime series and actually hear the music that has been created for this wonderful book!
