SYNOPSIS: The Queen of Pop, Ms. Britney Spears, writes about growing up in the spotlight. Her relationships with her family and the boyfriends she had over the years have shaped her into who she is now, whether it was in her best interest or not. The many heartbreaks she has had to endure–cheaters, liars, alcoholics, and loss of self– all come out in a personal and heartfelt way. She talks about Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera, music videos, break-ups, marriages, friends, the conservatorship, fans, and her more recent freedom to be completely herself.

MY THOUGHTS: As a kid of the 90’s, this was a book I felt like I should definitely read. I was an absolute die-hard *NSYNC fan (still waiting on the reunion tour), but Britney was always on the radio too! By the end of this book, I felt so bad for Britney and all that she has been through since her days with JT. It seemed as though she had one hurt after another and just could not get control of her own life. I listened to this as an audiobook read by Michelle Williams, who I felt captured Britney’s voice well. There was nothing mind-blowing or earth-shattering, but it was interesting to hear all that she has had to endure at the hands of her friends and family.
